SUPREME SACRIFICE
Since the beginning of the Baldwin Fire Department, generations of firefighters have proudly answered the call to protect their community. Throughout our long history, only two members have made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives in the line of duty. Their names and their stories remain an enduring part of the department’s history, reminding us of the courage, dedication, and selflessness that define the fire service. Today, we honor their memory and the lasting legacy they left behind.

“I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a fireman. The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one; but we who know the work which the fireman has to do believe that his is a noble calling. Our proudest moment is to save lives. Under the impulse of such thoughts, the nobility of the occupation thrills us and stimulates us to deeds of daring, even of supreme sacrifice.”
