The Baldwin Fire Department responded yesterday, September 2, 2026, at approximately 5:28 PM, for a reported motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle that struck a building at the CVS located at 1829 Grand Avenue in Baldwin.

3rd Deputy Chief CJ Jamison (2053) was the first Baldwin Fire Department officer to arrive on scene. Due to the vehicle's involvement with the structure, Chief Jamison requested a Minor Technical Rescue Team Matrix response from mutual-aid fire departments. Specialty-trained technical rescue units from Freeport, Rockville Centre, North Bellmore, and Bellmore responded to assist.

Chief of Department Michael Parise (205) subsequently arrived and assumed command of the incident.

Firefighters and technical rescue personnel operated on scene for just over an hour, working to safely mitigate the incident and assess the building and vehicle.

The Baldwin Fire Department EMS Division transported two injured occupants of the vehicle to Mount Sinai South Nassau for medical evaluation and treatment.

There were no reported injuries to firefighters or anyone inside the building.

Once the fire department operations were completed, the scene was turned over to the Town of Hempstead Building Department for further evaluation.

The Baldwin Fire Department would like to thank the mutual-aid departments and all responding personnel for their assistance.
